I’m Kristyna, the owner of Silver Sixpence Bridal — a mum of three, newly married (in 2025!), and the friendly face you’ll see when you walk through the boutique doors.

My love for the bridal world started straight after leaving school, when I worked as a Saturday/tea girl in a bridal boutique in Newport. From steaming dresses and making endless cups of tea to watching brides say ie, that role sparked a genuine passion for bridal fashion and the magic of the wedding industry.

I went on to study Event and Tourism Management at Cardiff Metropolitan University, combining my early love of dresses with a deeper understanding of weddings and events. This led to over 8 years’ experience in the wedding industry, including wedding coordinating at two well-known South Wales venues, supporting couples from their first plans right through to the big day itself.

Seven years ago, I swapped Newport for the Rhondda, and now proudly run my boutique in the heart of the Valleys — a place known for its warmth, community and big hearts. Cartref (home) really does sum it up.

Silver Sixpence Bridal was created with one simple goal: finding the dress for your fairytale. A calm, welcoming space where brides can relax, feel supported and truly enjoy the experience — no pressure, no rush, just cariad (love) and honesty.

When I’m not in the boutique, you’ll usually find me with my family — including my two dogs, Sausage the sausage dog (yes, really ) and Lennie the cockapoo — or chatting all things weddings over a cuppa and a Red Bull. 

With a background in both bridal fashion and real wedding-day coordination experience, I understand not just how a dress should look, but how it needs to feel — comfortable, confident and completely you.
